Colombo International Container Terminals Limited (CICT) is a joint venture between China Merchants Port Holdings Company Limited (CMPH) and the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA). Under a 35-year Build, Operate, and Transfer (BOT) agreement, CICT developed and operates the Colombo South Container Terminal, the first deep-water terminal in South Asia capable of handling the largest vessels afloat. With a berth length of 1, 200 meters and a depth of 18 meters, CICT has a capacity of 3 million TEUs and is strategically located on the East-West shipping route, serving as a key transshipment hub in the region.
