Established in 1889 in Cairo as a small family business, El Rashidi El Mizan has grown into a leading confectionery producer in the Middle East and North Africa. The company specializes in sesame-based products such as halawa and tahina, holding a 60% share of the branded halawa market and 78% of the tahina market in Egypt. In addition to these traditional products, El Rashidi El Mizan has expanded its portfolio to include jams, tomato paste, honey, molasses, rice, and ready-to-eat items. The company operates six factories in 6th of October City, Giza, and serves over 50 markets in the MENA region. In 2015, it became a subsidiary of the Saudi-owned Olayan Financing Company.
