The Fresh-Lock team has created many groundbreaking slider and zipper solutions. Reclosable Solutions for Sustainable PackagingToday's consumers are more environmentally conscious than ever before and prefer brands that align with their values. In response to consumer needs and industry regulation, many brands are seeking solutions to reduce packaging waste. The Fresh-Lock team is committed to helping brands successfully achieve their individual sustainable packaging goals. The Fresh-Lock® 8000 Series is a line of sustainable closures for flexible packaging that targets circularity and waste elimination. This portfolio of sliders and zippers helps provide sustainable packaging to the marketplace with minimum reduction in production efficiencies while still delivering the ideal consumer experience. Our most recent developments in the 8000 Series include home-compostable closures as well as PCR closure solutions for flexible packaging. Collaborating with TIPA, a global leader in home compostable packaging, the Fresh-Lock team launched a new line of home compostable closures for flexible pouches. These closures, including Style 8531, a child-resistant, press-to-close zipper, and Style 8035, a versatile, single lock zipper, are designed to biodegrade within 90-180 days under compost conditions. In collaboration with Revolution, a leader in PCR resin, the Fresh-Lock team is helping advance circularity by encapsulating PCR into a new line of closures starting by updating two of their award-winning closures, Zipper Style 8813 and the track of the Child-Guard® technology. In addition to these recent advancements, the 8000 Series currently includes: polyethylene zippers and sliders, compostable zippers, polypropylene zippers, and more. A New Solution Is Underway for Child-Resistant Flexible PackagingDriven by the expanding range of products that require child-resistant features, the adoption of child-resistance in the flexible packaging space is on the rise. Flexible packaging offers the advantage of helping reduce packaging waste through rightsizing while also enabling brands to align on sustainability initiatives. Continued innovation is crucial so more brands considering the transition from rigid to flexible packaging can make the leap. Ten years ago, the Fresh-Lock team debuted the groundbreaking child-resistant technology of the Child-Guard® Track & Slider at PACK EXPO. Since then, this critical closure has helped bring tested safety and performance to flexible packages and has been featured on a WorldStar Award-winning flexible pouch. In addition to incorporating PCR into the track of this closure, the Fresh-Lock team is currently developing a new closure with Child-Guard® technology that will enable a wider pouch opening with enhanced child-resistant performance.
