The Instituto Nacional de Carnes (INAC) is a public non-state entity established by Decree-Law No. 15, 605 on July 27, 1984. It is responsible for proposing, advising, and executing Uruguay's National Meat Policy, as determined by the Executive Power. INAC's mission focuses on promoting activities and formulating strategies that add value to the meat chain, enhancing efficiency and competitiveness in production, industrialization, commercialization, storage, and transportation systems. The institute also oversees the promotion of Uruguayan meat globally and ensures the commercial quality control of exported products. INAC leads the Certified Natural Meat Program and is a member of prestigious organizations such as the International Meat Secretariat (IMS) and the Meat Importers Council of America (MICA).
