JSC "Kaliningrad Amber Plant" is the largest in the world and the only enterprise in Russia engaged in industrial extraction of amber. Founded on July 21, 1947 on the basis of the Koenigsberg Amber Manufactory, the enterprise is located in the village of Yantarny in the Kaliningrad region, where about 90% of the world's amber reserves, which are about 50 million years old, are concentrated. The plant annually produces about 600 tons of raw amber, which is sold through electronic trading platforms and auctions for processors. In 2024, the company plans to set a new record by extracting 600 tons of succinite from the Primorskoye deposit.
