Launceston Distillery, established in 2015, is located in the historic Hangar 17 at Launceston Airport in Tasmania. It is the first distillery in Launceston since the 1839 Distillation Prohibition Act. The distillery specializes in hand-crafted, small-batch single malt whisky made from Tasmanian malted barley and pure South Esk river water. Using traditional techniques and craftsmanship, their whisky is matured in a variety of oak casks and bottled at 46% ABV, with limited editions available at natural cask strength.
