The Federación de Cooperativas Agrarias de Murcia (FECOAM) is a prominent agricultural federation based in the Region of Murcia, Spain. Established in 1985, FECOAM functions as a central body representing more than 80 agri-food cooperatives and over 22,000 farming families in the Murcia region. The federation plays a critical role in the coordination, promotion, and development of cooperative agriculture in one of Europe’s most vital fruit and vegetable production zones.
FECOAM operates as a non-profit federation that supports agricultural cooperatives across several domains, including marketing, production planning, quality assurance, training, and internationalization. Its key objective is to strengthen the competitiveness and sustainability of cooperative farming models.
The Murcia region, also known as the "Orchard of Europe," is responsible for a significant share of Spain’s fruit and vegetable exports. FECOAM’s unique strength lies in its ability to unify the region’s agricultural producers under one platform, enabling access to technical assistance, innovation, market integration, and policy representation.
Although FECOAM does not directly commercialize products, its member cooperatives export a wide range of fresh produce, including but not limited to:
