The Regroupement des pêcheurs professionnels du sud de la Gaspésie (RPPSG) is a non-profit organization dedicated to defending, protecting, and developing the economic, social, and professional interests of fishermen and the resources on which their industry depends. In 2014, RPPSG developed JOBEL, an electronic logbook (ELOG) designed by fishermen for fishermen, allowing professional fishermen to submit data of their fishing activities electronically rather than by paper form. JOBEL is qualified by Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) and has been in use since 2018, facilitating compliance with national and international requirements for sustainable fisheries management.
