The State Committee on Science and Technology (SCST) of the Republic of Belarus is a governmental body responsible for implementing state policy, exercising control, and coordinating activities in the fields of scientific, technical, and innovation activities, as well as the protection of intellectual property rights. The SCST oversees the effective spending of state budget appropriations allocated to finance research and development (R&D) and innovation efforts, and it ensures the development of the R&D information system. The committee also pursues a uniform state policy in international scientific and technical cooperation.
