The appellation is renowned for its rich, fruity red wines primarily made from Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. The white wines, though lesser in volume, are crafted from Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Colombard, Muscadelle, and Sauvignon Gris.
