Founded in 1639 in Riquewihr, Alsace, Famille Hugel is a renowned family-owned winery now managed by the 12th generation. The estate comprises 30 hectares of prime vineyards, primarily Grand Cru, with additional grapes sourced from 100 hectares of contracted vineyards. Famille Hugel specializes in producing dry, aromatic wines from Alsace's noble grape varieties, including Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Muscat, and Pinot Blanc. Known for their distinctive yellow labels, Hugel wines are celebrated globally, with 90% of production exported to over 100 countries. The Hugel family is also credited with pioneering late-harvest wines in Alsace and has been instrumental in establishing strict production laws to ensure quality and authenticity.
