McGraw Seafood, founded in 1973 and acquired by the Elsipogtog First Nation in 2008, is a First Nations-owned seafood processing company located in Atlantic Canada. Specializing in high-quality snow crab and herring roe, the company sources its raw materials from Indigenous fishermen of Elsipogtog, who sustainably harvest seafood from the cold, clear waters of zone 12 in the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. McGraw Seafood employs approximately 200 workers, primarily Acadians, and collaborates with 150 Indigenous fishermen. The company has achieved British Retail Consortium (BRC) certification, reflecting its commitment to high standards of food safety and quality. Profits generated by McGraw Seafood support various community programs and initiatives, including education, training, cultural activities, and infrastructure projects, thereby contributing to the well-being of the Elsipogtog First Nation.
