Established in 1973, the Scottish Fishermen's Organisation (SFO) is the largest fish Producer Organisation in the UK and one of the biggest in Europe. The SFO assists its approximately 140 active member vessels in optimizing the value of fisheries resources throughout the value chain, aiming for a profitable and sustainable future for fishermen, the wider industry, and coastal communities. Members operate across various sectors, including demersal, pelagic, and shellfish, and are located around the Scottish coastline. Collectively, SFO members catch a significant proportion of all fish landed into Scotland, including species such as nephrops, cod, haddock, mackerel, and herring.
