The Shangrila Handicrafts Center, also known as the Yunnan Mountain Heritage Center (YMHC), is a community-based organization dedicated to preserving and promoting local cultural heritage, handicrafts, and eco-tourism in Diqing Prefecture, Yunnan. Established in 2006, the center features a shop offering traditional crafts from Tibetan, Yi, and Naxi artisans, including pottery, wood carvings, paper products, weaving, and silver jewelry. Additionally, the center houses a library and learning center with a collection of over 5, 000 volumes in Chinese, English, and Tibetan, and offers free English conversation classes and community workshops on various topics.
