Batangas Egg Producers Multipurpose Cooperative (BEPCO) is a pioneering agricultural cooperative based in San Jose, Batangas, Philippines. Known as the country's Egg Capital, BEPCO brings together the collective strength of egg producers to enhance value-added processes, promote sustainability, and advance the economic empowerment of its farmer-members.
Founded to address the fluctuating market prices and oversupply of eggs in Batangas, BEPCO has grown into a model cooperative that champions both sustainability and profitability in the agriculture sector. Established with support from the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP), BEPCO was designed to increase income generation through modern egg processing and marketing strategies.
BEPCO focuses on processing and marketing value-added egg products sourced from its cooperative members. The cooperative also contributes to environmental and economic sustainability by utilizing by-products of egg production for alternative markets such as fertilizers and feed.

BEPCO’s core strength lies in value addition and full-cycle egg utilization. Unlike traditional poultry farms, BEPCO offers processed egg products that extend shelf life, reduce food waste, and provide flexibility in large-scale applications. It is one of the few Filipino agricultural cooperatives offering pasteurized liquid eggs—a key advantage in food safety and storage efficiency.
As a project supported under the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP), BEPCO received over PHP 35 million (~USD 620,000) in funding support to construct and operate an egg processing facility in Barangay Banaybanay 1, San Jose. The facility boosts the cooperative’s processing capacity to manage over 30,000 eggs daily, significantly increasing cooperative revenue potential and member profit margins.
Currently, BEPCO primarily serves the domestic market with no significant international export records listed in public trade databases. However, its facility’s design meets industry standards for potential export readiness, particularly in the ASEAN market, for processed egg products.
BEPCO targets institutional buyers, food processors, hotels, bakeries, and restaurants requiring safe, pre-processed egg products in bulk quantities. The cooperative also engages with organic farmers and agribusinesses for its eco-friendly fertilizer by-products.
While specific international certifications such as ISO or HACCP are not publicly listed, the facility was built to meet Philippine food safety regulations and was endorsed by the Department of Agriculture and the PRDP. The cooperative adheres to strict sanitary guidelines in its processing operations.
