The Doi Tung Development Project (DTDP), initiated by Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra in 1988, is a sustainable alternative livelihood development initiative in northern Thailand. The project transformed the region from dependence on opium cultivation to a self-sufficient community through the cultivation of coffee, macadamia nuts, and handicrafts. DTDP focuses on improving the quality of life for local communities, providing education, healthcare, and employment opportunities, and promoting environmental conservation.
